Lactobacillus Acidophilus
It is the main symbiotic of the first intestinal tract (duodenum, jejunum and small intestine). During its metabolism, it creates inadequate conditions for the growth of pathogenic bacteria including Escherichia coli. It promotes normal bowel function in case of sluggish bowel, diarrhoea, and flatulence. Useful in fighting Candida infections.


Lactobacillus plantarum
One of the most common species in vaginal fluid. It has shown a strong capacity to adhere to skin cells. Among the most useful strains to treat IBS.


Streptococcus thermophilus
It is a transient lactobacillus (does not colonise the intestinal tract) that helps acidification in the small intestine by creating an inhospitable environment for pathogenic bacteria and it complements Lactobacillus acidophilus. It has anti-inflammatory properties as well.


Lactobacillus casei
Effective for the treatment of intestinal infections, it strengthens immune defences and maintains the balance of the intestinal tract by improving its function as intestinal barrier. It enhances the innate immune system and has anti-inflammatory properties, especially for the elderly.


Lactobacillus rhamnosus
It has demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity. It has exceptional adherence to the colon. Among the most useful strains for the treatment of diarrhoea due to viral aetiology and antibiotics. Together with plantarum, acidophilus and bifidum, it is one of the strains forming the vaginal flora.


Bifidobacterium bifidum
Many of the benefits resulting from the integration of bifidum are generally similar to those deriving from the Acidophilus supplement, even though they particularly refer to the large intestine. It also has anti-inflammatory and immunostimulant proprieties.
