It helps the urinary tract function correctly and can be associated with an antibiotic therapy to treat acute episodes. It inhibits the link between Escherichia coli adhesins and urothelial cells, thereby preventing the bacteria from adhering to the cells. It also performs local anti-inflammatory action and. lowers the urine pH value, thus generating an unfavourable environment for bacterial growth.
D-Mannose from birch
It is a simple sugar extracted from larch and birch wood. It is scarcely absorbed by the liver and/or other organs, thus reaching the kidneys and being expelled through the urinary tract, where it reaches high concentrations. Its anti-infective action is due to the competitive inhibition of bacteria adhesion, namely E. coli, to urothelial cells.
It performs a synergic action with Cranberry, boosting its anti-adhesive action. It also has strong anti-bacterial properties.
