Description

Berberis aristata
Berberine, an alkaloid contained in Berberis bark, has aroused great interest for its ability to regulate the plasma values of glucose, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol.

Red yeast rice with Monascus purpureus
Red yeast rice contains monacolin K, a vegetable statin, that plays a role in the cholesterol metabolism in a dose dependent manner.

Olive (Olea europea)
The most active pharmacological substances are the secoiridoids such as oleuropein and oleoside. It is best known for its essentially peripheral hypotensive
action (marked vasodilation). The latter is due to a direct action of the plant complex on the smooth muscle cells of the vessel wall. Quercetin, also contained in the extract, exerts a calcium channel blocker activity on vascular smooth muscle.

Coenzima Q-10
Useful for protection from the possible side effects produced by statins, it also provides the heart muscle with a considerable increase of energy. Excellent antioxidant.

Acido folico
It is able to reduce the blood levels of homocysteine, an amino acid whose high levels (hyperhomocysteinemia) are usually associated with increased cardiovascular risk.
