Description

Saccharomyces Boulardii
It is a strain of tropical yeast isolated for the first time in 1923 by the French scientist Henri Boulard from the Chinese cherry (Lychee) and from the Mangosteen fruit. Being a yeast, it is not inactivated by antibiotics. It is a very useful probiotic for balancing our intestinal
flora. This yeast has proved to be particularly effective in preventing and treating diarrhoea associated with
antibiotic therapy in both adults and children. Some studies have shown that Saccharomyces boulardii is able to prevent intestinal infections caused by Candida
albicans and Escherichia coli. Saccharomyces boulardii is stable at acid pH, and it is therefore able to reach the intestine in a short time and at high concentrations. The clinical efficacy of Saccharomyces boulardii has been evaluated in several types of chronic inflammatory diseases, including Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus
It regulates immune tolerance and inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines. It has exceptional adherence to the colon. Among the most useful strains for the treatment of diarrhoea due to viral aetiology and antibiotics. Together with plantarum, acidophilus and bifidum, it is one of the strains forming the vaginal flora.
